Make some money by renting your designer handbag
After spending £2,400 on a brown suede Prada bag at the age of 26, Office administrator, Pauline Wellington, became addicted to buying designer handbags.
Now, the fashionista has amassed a collection worthy of £40,000 and turned her hobby into a profitable business empire.
After realizing that she owned far too many, she reluctantly first sold her Prada handbag on eBay.
“I have owned over 1,000 designer bags during my lifetime. Each one was sentimental and the thought of never seeing the bag again was upsetting.” she explained.
"Then it hit me, why not just LOAN my bags out?”
Pauline launched TheHandbagRental.com in April 2013, which became a big success and now features many designer handbags - from Burberry, to Hermes to Gucci.
The website operates similarly to sites such as eBay, where users can sign up to either rent or sell their bags at a fraction of the price. Sellers then keep 80 per cent.
According to the DailyMail, you can make an extra £1,125.60 a year, if you rent out two £28.50 bags for 26 weeks a year, minus a year’s membership.
'”I still remember the buzz I felt when I bought my first designer bag on London's exclusive Bond Street,” Paulina told the DailyMail.
"My beautiful bags never let me down, and always made me feel special."
"I wished every woman could feel the same way." she added.
